There's this place in the Perth hills that will remind you of the English countryside with rolling green hills and cute little villages. Even if you've never set foot on English soil, it will conjure up all that you thought it would be. I haven't been to Bickley before, in fact it's not often I get up to the hills, but lately more and more couples are being drawn into the secret little pockets of charming wineries that dot the hinterlands of Perth. For Naomi and Alwin, the Brookside Winery in Bickley was a perfect match. Intimate, beautiful, set in the valley with a babbling brook marking its boundaries on one side, a line of vineyards on the other and a curious horse peeking over the fence in the adjoining field. Hidden in the rustic shed with its charming artefacts, is a chef and his team that sets about to delight guests' senses with the most incredible food. It also creates an atmosphere that beckons dancing and good times with friends. Which is exactly what Naomi and Alwin did into the wee hours of the night.
