Children of the evolution

A woman called Lenore Skenazy was the inspiration behind this image. A year ago she was labelled America's worst mother when she let her 9-year-old son ride the New York Subway by himself and promptly caused a media sensation. She has since written a book about how childhood has changed since we were growing up and how we are living in a world of worst-case scenarios. I certainly remember a childhood of climbing trees, hours of playing and exploring without parental supervision. I can't remember watching TV or playing video games - there was too much happening outside. But in this litigious and informed media driven society, we don't let our kids do that anymore. I wonder about the impact this will have on our kids one day?
